At the top of the escalator you emerge into a mall. There is a Strawberry, there is a Bolton's, there is a Verizon Stop 'N Go Wireless booth. But you have little time to consider your mall-going options because directly in front of you is:

Hudson News.

You step off the escalator and it is right in your way; if you didn't have fast reflexes, you would have upended the display of Michael Jackson Memorial Magazines. Surely the people who administer the leases at Port Authority cannot have permitted Hudson News to build a news kiosk directly in the way of foot traffic? Surely this newsstand is run by anarchists, or by squatters? You scramble off to your left, duck through the crowds, and retreat into an alcove next to Auntie Anne's Pretzles to get your bearings.

If you decide to examine the offerings at this rogue Hudson News stand, click here.

If you follow the sign posted immediately over your head, indicating that there is an information booth located to the west, further into the mall, click here.

If you rush through the crowds toward the door to 41st Street, which you now see is right across from you, because that is where the information booth attendant said the Newark Airport Shuttle was, click here.

If you rush through the crowds toward the door to 8th Avenue—because 8th Avenue is familiar— because you need some familiarity—because Port Authority is beginning to feel vexing and vertiginous—click here.
